The failure of the Fibonacci roulette system

The Fibonacci roulette system is a victim of the assumptions that it has made. This article provides a general background as to the reasons why the Fibonacci roulette system might not work in the same way that the player has envisaged. It suffers from the same over confidence that other foolproof strategies fail. It treats the game with a straight jacket when in reality it is all about improvisation. That is a fundamental flaw in all its activities.

Leonardo Fibonacci, born in Pisa, Italy in the 12th century, actually got his last name after he died. Fibonacci is a sort of a nickname. He earned fame as an outstanding mathematician. He introduced Hindu-Arabic numerals (which is what we use today) to Europe, which replaced the cumbersome Roman numerals in use at that time. Can you imagine multiplying two Roman numerals together? How would anyone calculate the answer to CXIV times LXII? I don’t know how the Romans built their fantastic structures with such a severe mathematical handicap.

Fibonacci used a number series, which had been developed hundreds of years earlier, to solve some mathematical problems, and today that series bears his name. The first two numbers of the series are zero and one. Each subsequent number is determined by adding the two previous numbers together. The series becomes: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34 and so forth. (In some versions the initial zero is omitted.) Recently this number series gained notoriety as the 10-digit bank account number in The DaVinci Code book and movie. Some investment gurus derive ratios from the Fibonacci series to help with financial market analysis by identifying key levels of support and resistance.?

How do we use this series as a gambling strategy? First modify the series by eliminating the first two numbers, zero and one. Then start with a bet of one unit. If you win, bet one unit again and keep on betting one unit until you lose. After a loss, increase your bet one level and continue increasing one level after a loss but reduce your bet one level after any win. If you win two bets in a row or two bets out of three, drop back to the first bet in the series.

You have to have a strong stomach for this system since you will get up to the higher numbers once or twice in every hour of play, but if you stick it out, the system performs very well. I would also recommend starting over if you lose five bets in a row to avoid serious damage to your bankroll. For the same reason I also wouldn’t go any higher than the 34-level.

If you play with a partner, you can bet on the opposites. For example, one bet always on black and the other always bet the red. Surprisingly, you may both end up winning.

I would like to share with you a simple system created by a man known as Fibonacci, who was born in 1170 A.D. in Pisa Italy. He created and discovered a simple mathematical system that applies to nature in general. Using his system you can apply it to win at roulette following this system of numbers as the system itself:

1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233

Now this roulette system will seem a little bit complicated but it really isn’t. It’s a lot like the Labouchre roulette system. You simply add each number ahead of the next. As an example: 1+0= 1, 1+1 = 2 + 1 = 3 + 2 = 5 +3 8 + 5 = 13 + 8 = 21 etc. Each number is added to the outcome of the previous number added. With this way to win at roulette, the number that is next in the sequence is the size of your bet. If you lose, that bet is added to the end of the number sequence however if you win the last number is removed from the sequence.

Bet 1 unit and lose: 1 -1 units

Bet 1 unit and lose: 1-1 -2 units

Bet 2 units and lose: 1-1-2 -4 units

Bet 3 units and win: 1-x-x -1 units

When you are using this roulette system, you start with one unit you bet with. The second unit is also one bet. If you lose both, your next bet is for both units you lost, plus two for a potential profit. You should get the picture if you can wrap your mind around the Fibonacci roulette system easily.

The fibonacci roulette system can be brutal if you hit a losing streak, but I personally suggest you stop after a string of 3 losses in a row. Just keep the sum total of the fibonacci locked inside your mind while you take a break. Remember no point in getting overly emotional or attached to a losing streak.

If you use common sense and practicality, log and no emotions while playing roulette, you can actually have a lot of fun with the Fibonacci roulette system. I recommend you keep your bets to the lowest size as possible, usually five dollars.
